A loud, conspicuous flycatcher named for its own call — a bright, whistled "kis-ka-dee." Bold and adaptable, it hunts from an open perch for anything from insects to small fish, and is just as at home in a city park as along a riverbank.
Photographed perched in the open, showing the bold black-and-white head stripes and bright yellow underparts that make this one of the most recognisable birds across Paraguay.
